- Proofread every page
- Check all links (no 404s)
- Add page titles and meta descriptions
- Add alt text to images
- Add a favicon and a social sharing image
- Publish privacy policy and terms pages
Functionality
- Test every form end to end (confirm the emails arrive)
- Test checkout or payments with a real transaction
- Test on phones, tablets, and major browsers
- Check page speed on mobile
- Run an accessibility check
- Set up a custom 404 page
Technical
- Remove "noindex" tags and robots.txt blocks left from staging
- Confirm HTTPS works and http redirects to it
- Set up 301 redirects from old URLs
- Confirm analytics is recording visits
- Submit the sitemap to Google Search Console
- Set up backups
- Set up uptime monitoring
Launch
- Announce the launch (email, social)
- Watch errors and analytics for the first 48 hours
