Two weeks before
- Check local permit rules
- Pick a date (and a rain date)
- Sort items into sell, donate, and toss
Week before
- Price everything with stickers
- Advertise online (Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor, Craigslist)
- Make large, readable signs
- Gather tables, racks, and blankets
- Collect bags and newspaper for wrapping
- Get small bills and coins for change
- Set up a payment app (Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle)
Day of
- Put up signs early
- Set out items by category
- Run an extension cord for testing electronics
- Keep cash on you, not in an open box
After
- Take down all signs
- Donate what didn't sell
- Delete online listings
