Health & hygiene
- First-aid kit
- Prescription medications (at least a week's supply)
- Spare glasses or contacts
- Dust masks
- Moist towelettes, garbage bags, and plastic ties
- Toilet paper and hygiene items
Documents & money
- Copies of IDs, insurance policies, and bank records (in a waterproof bag)
- Cash in small bills
- Printed list of emergency contacts
- Paper map of your area
- Spare house and car keys
Comfort
- Change of clothes and sturdy shoes
- Emergency blanket or sleeping bag
- Rain poncho
- Pet food, leash, and records
- Baby supplies (formula, diapers), if needed
